This 8 min short film was the result of being immersed in these folk stories from Bengal from a very young age. The above short was completed in a period of 3 months, working after hours with a small team of animators and designers. The look and feel was highly inspired by the works of German animator and film-maker, Lotte Reiniger.
The short film ran the festival circuit for 4 years and was screened at ASIFA where it picked up the Best Animated Short Film Award, India in 2008. Was screened at Sala Parpallo, Spain as well as ITFS Stuttgart, Germany NYICFF New York, USA. Some posters below.
